Renaissane Medieval made sideless surcoat. It is a one piece garment worn over another dress. Would be great for a medieval themed wedding for the bridesmaid. Or wear it to your favorite medieval event.
The sideless surcoat was first seen around the mid 13th century in Europe. It was very similar and probably came from the surcoat men wore over their armour. It was also commonly called the "Gates of Hell" by the Church because it revealed the dress underneath to the hips :-) This is one version of the surcoat often seen.
Made from a cotton/poly brocade fabric and lined in cotton in a matching color. Surcoat is long in both the front and the back. The back has a slight train to it. The neckline is a "V" style and has a matching cord piping for the finished edge.
This dress is designed to be worn over a medieval style dress or cotehardie. I have provided pictures of the surcoat worn at a medieval themed wedding so you can see how it can be worn.
